SADLY, PAUL DIED ON 01 APRIL 2014. HE WAS 69. His biog was... Marham, 140 SU RAFG, Cosford - remustered to Aircrew in 1970. Following training at Topcliffe was posted to St. Mawgan to await Nimrod Conversion Course - was detached to Finningley to act as Safety Pilot on the Nav School - I've been totally lost over most parts of UK! After completing OCU went to 120 Sqn at Kinloss then 3 years to the day was posted back to the OCU at St Mawgan as an instructor. Finished my service at Finningley as an instructor on the AE & AEOp School. Along with my time at Locking I spent just over half my service career as a trainee or a trainer - must have loved training - I don't think !!! Left in 1984 - went into Financial Services. Retired 2004.

SADLY, COLIN DIED ON 18 MAY 2014. HE WAS 68. His biog was... So, how to put 50yrs in here? Post-Locking, 3mths at Ballykelly then cadetship to Cranwell. Got thru' OK then achieved my aim to keep my backside in the air as long as possible. Never interested in flying a desk, I flew Vulcans (including displays), Hunters, Canberras then started instructing in '82, at Leeming, Church Fenton and Scampton leading to 3yr exchange in France. Returned to UK to teach FastJet navs at Finningley and finishing with over 10yrs as a Loan-Service instructor with the RAF of Oman, from where I retired in 2005 (RAF 44yrs, 16-60, 40 of them active flying (never on transports) and I didn't even get a Reds flypast when I left!). Married Sandy in '68,2 daughters quickly followed and now 3 grandkids. Unfortunately, retirement to our house near Cognac, France, soon turned upside down. Sandy was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 2007, now advanced and bedridden. I was diagnosed with locally-advanced prostate cancer in 2009 and am looking at months rather than years. However I hope to be saying the same thing next year and the year after! I hope to make the 50th reunion. Jan 2014
